QalQilia Plastic Art & Music
QalQilia Plastic Art & Music was a project started in 2012 to teach children in Qalqilia a way of expressing their realities, hopes, and dreams. Every meeting was around 3 hours of training, in the first hour the teachers helped students get a general idea of instruments, how to read notes, and getting used to basic melodies and for the remaining two hours they would teach them how to play some instruments, such as the oud, violin, and qanoun. The training was happening in two different schools in Qalqilia simultaneously, each school had a teacher for each instrument to allow the students to choose which instrument they would prefer to learn. In the end stages of the project, both schools were combined to present a final performance of the recent knowledge they acquired.
