Youth Testimony:

UNESCO, as part of mainstreaming youth programs for the year 2006, had approached Sabreen to co work together in organizing seven art workshops two in Gaza and five in West Bank localities targeting the Palestinian youth.

Those workshops that were named by “Youth Testimony” encourage Palestinian youth to express their frustration, feelings, confusion, hopes. Music instruments, music games, colours, role-playing, movement, theatre sketches become the youth’s tools of expression.

The themes that were discussed at the workshops were UNESCO's 2006 themes that focused on:

• cultural diversity
• promoting Literacy
• Youth poverty and empowerment

International Youth Day

UNESCO jointly with Sabreen organized a workshop at 17/8/2006 on the occasion of the International Youth Day at the Grand Park Hotel in Ramallah. The objective of this event was to join all the local youth organizations to introduce them to UNESCO's vision for youth programs and to present the summary of the workshops done.

UNESCO and Sabreen agreed that the best way to introduce those organizations to the methodology of youth testimony is to let them experience it.
